Artist Bio:Jose Mertz is a multidisciplinary artist whose work blends classical painting foundations with contemporary illustration, urban life, and mythic symbolism into a visual language that feels both raw and reflective. Influenced by hip-hop culture, personal experience, and formal training in painting, his work often explores themes of protection, struggle, spirit, identity, and transformation.

Known for creating bold compositions that carry both movement and emotion, Mertz builds worlds where animals, guardians, and symbolic figures become stand-ins for human experience. His imagery pulls from personal history, music, and everyday life, while pushing toward something timeless and cinematic.

Whether through paintings, murals, design, or collaborative projects, Jose Mertz brings a distinct voice that bridges fine art and contemporary culture. His work is driven by instinct, storytelling, and a desire to create images that hit with impact while still carrying deeper meaning.
